HENRY LILLY

Appraiser Assistant

I grew up in Southwest Portland, and after a couple years away in Montana and Utah, I have moved back in 2018 and now live in the Laurelhurst neighborhood in Southeast Portland. I am currently an appraiser assistant and I am continuing to work towards becoming a Certified General Appraiser. I have several family members and friends who work in the field of real estate and they were the ones that recommended that I do some research about the appraisal industry. After working in a number of different positions, ranging from natural resource management to education, the beginning of the COVID-19 lockdown allowed me to work through the qualifying education to become an appraiser assistant.

The reason I became interested in real estate appraisal is because it encapsulates many different skills and techniques that I enjoy; research, data collection, problem solving, and relationship building to name a few. I do not have a traditional real estate background, but I believe this helps me look at problems differently, finding solutions where others may not be looking. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time outside surfing, skiing, fly fishing and the list goes on…
